On the Hill of Tara


In 2004 Michael Maguire, of Maguire's on the Hill of Tara, commissioned four paintings when
the shop and cafe were being extended and some were later exhibited.
The painting of Fionn Mac Cumhaill, as an elder next to the Lia Fáil, was not shown as it was a
portrait of Michael's father, Dessie, who passed away soon after its' completion.
I am now able to include the four paintings here.




The original painting of Medbh was sold from the wall in the cafe where it hung.
Michael asked for another painting of the goddess.
Below is the second Medbh, unlike the first in some ways and with a few new details.




The painting below shows the aged Fionn Mac Cumhaill, Finn Mac Cool, standing besides
the Lia Fáil at sunset with the view across the landscape to the East.
